Lewis Hamilton Called Out $10.5 Billion Sports Brand For Future NASCAR Sponsorship: “We Could Make It Look So Cool”

Lewis Hamilton in NASCAR? Even though it’s not a reality coming into 2022, there were chances that the F1 Maestro could have switched the sport. The seven-time world champion not only had the interest to drive in NASCAR but also make a cameo in the much popular Talladega Nights 2 movie.

Even though the switch to America’s most popular form of Motorsports didn’t capitalize as of 2022, the former McLaren driver was indeed interested in the sport.

Talking about this in 2017, the Briton asserted, “I’m fully committed to F1 at the moment, but I think at some point in the future I might do, like, a guest appearance.”

“But if Puma (Lewis Hamilton is a Puma brand ambassador) did it, I think it would look sick.”

“We could make it look so cool. So, yeah, I can’t rule it out at the moment. I also just want to make an appearance in Talladega Nights 2, and I think I’d have to be in NASCAR for that.”

F1 ace driver Kimi Raikkonen is all set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut this year. The Finn also shared his thoughts to join the American sport a decade back. Apart from Raikkonen, famous drivers who raced in NASCAR were Jacques Villeneuve, Juan Pablo Montoya, Mario Andretti, and Dan Gurney.

As F1 as well as its entities now have a stronger foothold in the North American country than before, thanks to Netflix and Liberty Media, it will not be a surprise if any F1 driver, including Lewis Hamilton, chooses to switch their ride for a closed wheel one.
