When you hear Mercedes F1 team, you immediately think of Lewis Hamilton, a driver who has helped the team win seven consecutive world titles. And in that process, he’s won six driver’s championships himself. However, former F1 driver, Jenson Button, feels the Knight can enjoy success with another team as well.

The British driver has extended his stay with the Silver Arrows for another year and aims to win a record eighth world title in the current season.

The opening race of the season didn’t disappoint the fans at all. The battle between Hamilton and Red Bull’s Verstappen in the final laps of the race will be remembered for ages. Hamilton won the race, giving the Silver Arrows their first win of the season.

Button thinks that Lewis Hamilton can find success with another team on the grid

While speaking to Sky F1, Button said (as quoted by PlanetF1), “I don’t think he should leave F1, I think it’s too early for him, I think he can still achieve so much more. Maybe change teams, try something different? Build a team around him again and then fight for another World Championship.”

In the post-race interview with Sky Sports, Hamilton said, “Of course, this is only one race, so we don’t know what the future holds in terms of with the pace they have, they could be ahead a lot more.”

“But we’re going to work as hard as we can to try and stay close in this battle and I hope for many more of these sorts of races with Max and Valtteri. There’s a long way to go, 22 holy c**p! I’ll be grey by the end of this!” Hamilton concluded.

A night to remember for Hamilton in Bahrain

The opening round of the 2021 season was destined to be won by Verstappen as he had registered the fastest lap in free practice and even started on pole for the race on Sunday. However, Hamilton kept Red Bull’s prodigy in his mirror and took home the win.
