Lewis Hamilton Celebrated the End of Donald Trump Era With Hopeful Tweet Amid Tough Childhood Battles

As the 46th presidential election concluded, Lewis Hamilton took no time to congratulate the new President of the United States, Joe Biden. As the power moved from Donald Trump to Biden, Hamilton took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
The Silver Arrows driver conveyed his congratulatory message to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the vice president on the social networking site. Hamilton tweeted, “A historic day in America.”

“Today brings so much hope for the future, an example of diversity in leadership that I hope to see mirrored across industries and governments. Congratulations @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris, best of luck,” wrote the British F1 driver in his tweet.
The 79-year-old Democratic Joe Biden defeated Republican Donald Trump in a fiercely contested election to become the 46th elected president of the US.
Lewis Hamilton recalls the painful childhood days
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, is undoubtedly one of the greatest F1 drivers in the world. However, the Silver Arrows driver became the first black driver to win the F1 championship, when he won it for the first time in 2008. Although Hamilton is a celebrated figure now, he has not forgotten the painful days of his childhood.
Hamilton and his family are the only black family in the F1 paddock. With F1 largely being a white-dominated sport, Hamilton found it hard to get going initially, he shared. While recalling old memories, the Briton shared the instructions put down by his dad during his early racing days.

In 2020, while speaking to BBC Radio 4, the 37-year-old driver conveyed, “My Dad would always tell me, right from the get-go being the only black family at these races, ‘tread carefully. Keep quiet. And just do your talking on the track.”
“I tried to speak about it when I got to F1 but, again, I was alone there. The understanding wasn’t there with a lot of people,” further stated the Silver Arrows ace.
