The kids from Mulberry School for Girls from London asked Lewis Hamilton a host of questions. This gave Lewis the opportunity to talk about all the elements of racing and life as an F1 driver and clear some misconceptions.

Lewis Hamilton loves his life as an F1 driver. Who wouldn’t? After being asked “Do you ever get tired of constantly racing?” by Mimi of the Mulberry School for Girls, Lewis listed all aspects an F1 driver experiences. He then to clarify, said that a driver’s life is not just going around in an elaborate circle. A common misconception!

Lewis, a driver for Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, mentioned how there are a large group of people involved in an F1 team. Interacting with the team, involvement of the driver in the car development, etc.

Every single Formula 1 driver is a popular figure and they all represent their respective teams. Therefore, all of them have a marketability factor attached to them because of which they are involved in a lot of commercial photoshoots.

However, arguably the best part about being an F1 driver would be the travel. Every Grand Prix takes part on a new track across the globe, which requires the drivers to travel to a new location for every race. Do you hear complaining? We don’t!

Racing is never not fun

Aside from all the aforementioned aspects, the most fun element of being a Formula 1 driver will always be racing. The exception to that would be the strict training regimen, all F1 drivers have to adhere to. But according to Lewis, the best part about being an F1 driver is still racing.

Lewis described the experience as “Going to a theme park every weekend and riding on a new rollercoaster because they are all different tracks.”

He also mentions how every track has its own challenges, and that always keeps things interesting.

All in all, being a Formula 1 driver is definitely not a boring job. The car design, the travel, the photoshoots, and obviously the racing always keeps the life of an F1 driver interesting even if you’ve been racing as long as Lewis Hamilton.
