7-time world champion and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was finally seen behind the wheel after a long time. He tested the new 2022 car as he jumped into the W13 in the afternoon session of the Pre-season Test. Before getting in the car, Lewis answered some questions from the press.
Hamilton was relaxed during the first press conference of the season, but one question did fire him up. When asked if he is worried that he might not get a competitive car this season, the Briton gave a straightforward answer.

” Why would I feel that way? Why would I ever think that? We’ve won eight in a row. Why would I ever feel that way? My team doesn’t make mistakes. Of course, there is always a risk, but we don’t make mistakes.
We’ve got really intelligent people back at our factory and I have 100% trust in them. And whatever we start with today, whether good or bad, we will work through it. We have always had a great development plan and workforce,” said Hamilton on Mercedes’ 2022 chances.

“We need to make sure we get non-biased stewards, too. Racing drivers, some are very, very good friends with certain individuals. Some travel with certain individuals and tend to take more of a keen liking to some of them.
I just think [we need] people who have no bias and are super central when it comes to making decisions,” said the Mercedes driver.

The full picture regarding the performance of the W 13 will only be revealed after the first practice sessions at the Bahrain Grand Prix next month.
