It surely cannot be. In fact, it should not be for the sake of the fans and the sport. However, the way things are progressing, it seems Max Verstappen and Red Bull will go the distance and win all the remaining races as well. This is exactly why the sport is facing accusations of becoming boring. However, after Red Bull won its 11th consecutive race at Silverstone, 1996 champion Damon Hil made an interesting assessment for the rest of the season if Lewis Hamilton and/or Fernando Alonso fail to achieve their goal in 2023 as well.

So far this season, until the British GP, only Hamilton and Alonso have looked to challenge Red Bull. This scenario has made everyone wonder if Red Bull will go the distance. For many, that’s an unfavorable scenario for a host of reasons. However, speaking to The Independent, as quoted by Formula Passion, Hill believes the last few races will become more tense if Verstappen’s winning streak continues.

Hill said, “Winning all the grand prix in one season is something no one has ever managed to do. They’ll keep saying they don’t think about it, but they wish they did. My experience says they won’t, that Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton could end their winning streak. But if it doesn’t happen, Max can take all the victories between now and the end. It would be an incredible achievement for both him and Red Bull it would add great tension to the final races of the season.”

Now, we all know many believe Verstappen is the best among the three drivers. However, if a scenario comes where either Mercedes or Aston Martin man can snatch a victory in the last two races, it will make things a tad bit more interesting. However, why not anyone else? Well, according to even Helmut Marko, only the oldest drivers on the grid have showcased the mettle to do so.

Before McLaren brought their upgrades, which put their drivers on the front of the grid, it was only Mercedes and Aston Martin getting close to Red Bull. With the repeat scenarios of seeing Alonso and Hamilton on the podium, Marko believed only the two can spoil Red Bull’s party and snatch a win away from them.

Marko said, “In a way, young people should be ashamed of themselves. The big two, who are the only ones who can ‘piss off’ Max Verstappen, add up to 80 years: Alonso and Hamilton!” The combined ’80-year-olds’ are definitely showcasing their racing prowess. However, their cars are still a good few seconds away from the RB19.

Although, no two teams have a similar level of developmental progression. So with consistent efforts, Mercedes and Aston Martin, including McLaren now, can snatch a win away from Red Bull before the end of the season.
