Lewis Hamilton is undeniably one of the most noticeable faces in and around the United Kingdom, thanks to the recognition he earned after making his way into the 2020 New Year’s eve honors list.

While that was for winning his record-equaling 7th world championship title, the Briton recently received the knighthood from Charles, Prince of Wales at the Windsor Castle during an Investiture ceremony.

Contrastingly, Hamilton earned this title merely days after controversially losing out to Max Verstappen in the 2021 world championship fight.

But, of course, being part of such massive ceremonies isn’t anything new for Hamilton; Back in 2008, Hamilton received the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) from Her Majesty after securing his first F1 title.

Later, Hamilton even earned private lunch with the monarch, where the Queen had apparently offered the Briton advice on dinner etiquette. During an episode of The Graham Norton Show in 2015, Hamilton opened up that he had a rather hilarious moment with Her Majesty while trying to initiate a conversation with her.

What did Lewis Hamilton say?

Hamilton had his seat next to the Queen on the dining table and started to converse with the Queen when she interrupted and gave him a piece of advice.

I got invited to a lunch and was sitting next to the Queen. I was excited and started to talk to her, but she said – pointing to my left – ‘No you speak that way first, and I’ll speak this way and then I’ll come back to you’,” Hamilton said according to Hello Magazine.

However, he did clarify that when their turn came eventually, he had a rather cool chat with the Queen, who showed keen interest in talking about her usual weekend schedules and music.

She is a sweet woman, and we talked about how she spends her weekends, houses, and music. She is really cool,” the 7-time world champion added.

Overall, Hamilton has earned his respect after putting up a tough fight against a younger and much fiercer Verstappen this season. Yes, it would’ve been better had he won his 8th world championship title. But, it’s never too late, especially in Hamilton’s case as he’s got another couple of years under his sleeve.

Hence, will he manage to win the much-yearned title next season? Only time will tell.
