The ‘Renaissance man’ Virgil Abloh has left an unmatchable legacy in the world of fashion. His untimely death has spurred a great deal of sorrow among those who were influenced by his path-breaking work. Abloh was artistic director at Louis Vuitton since 2018, constantly pushing boundaries and redefining modern fashion.

He shared a great relationship with Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton. The Briton could often be spotted wearing an ‘Off-white’ ensemble which happens to be Abloh’s brand. Now, after Abloh’s unfortunate death ailing to a long-standing disease, Hamilton penned down an emotional message remembering his friend.

Words fail to express Hamilton’s grief

Lewis Hamilton and Virgil Abloh shared a great deal of respect and affection. Hamilton was present in his fashion shows and Abloh congratulated him on his on-track masterclass. Hamilton’s love for luxury streetwear is no secret and Abloh was a pioneer who redefined luxury streetwear in LV and Off-white.

The tragic news has left the seven-time world champion in despair. He has shared an emotional message for Late Virgil Abloh. He is dejected to hear this news. “I’ve spent the last day trying to think of what to say, but words fail me as I try to accept the reality of Virgil’s passing.”

The Briton is thankful to him for his contributions to the industry and to the black culture. Notably, Abloh was the first African-American creative director in Louis Vuitton’s history of 160 years. His designs, which were once unthinkable, became a blueprint for other leading designers.

“Virgil showed us that dreams no matter how big they are can always be turned into reality. He was a visionary, somebody that forever pushed boundaries and never let anything or anyone hold him back.”, wrote Hamilton.

“In his short time, was a true game-changer and inspired so many of us to see fashion in a different light. An icon and legend that will forever live on,” he added.
