Lewis Hamilton is the greatest F1 driver of all time from a statistical point of view. But Ferrari driver coach Jock Clear picks Michael Schumacher over Lewis Hamilton as the better driver in F1.
Clear is currently coaching Micheal’s son Mick Schumacher. Mick is in his rookie formula one season and Clear is helping him on the technical side. He’s also worked alongside Hamilton during a stint in 2013-14. In a recent interview, he answered questions about his job and why Lewis struggles in team dynamics as compared to Micheal.

Lewis didn’t understand team dynamics that much naturally – Clear
Speaking to SportsBild, Jock Clear explained the differences between Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. And he also explained why he would pick Micheal over Lewis in terms of team building.

“Michael (Schumacher) Was exceptionally good at working with the team. He knew how to motivate people. Motorsport can seem like a lonely sport because only one person is in the car. But it’s actually a team sport.” said Clear of Micheal’s amazing team-building skills. (Quotes translated from German using Google)
When asked about working with Lewis Hamilton, “Lewis was less of a natural in that regard. In the way he controls the car, he was perhaps even more natural, perhaps better than Michael. But Lewis didn’t understand team dynamics that much naturally. But he learns very quickly.”
