Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has suggested that any chances of Max Verstappen moving to Mercedes are dead. Former Williams driver stated that the contract extension for Lewis Hamilton also meant that Max could not move to the German team.

There were rumors throughout the paddock that Max Verstappen might jump ship to Mercedes if Lewis Hamilton calls it a day on his racing career. But the news of Hamilton signing a new two-year deal meant that Max would stay at Red Bull.

As reported by bild.de, the German driver believes there were only two choices for the world champions. The younger of the Schumacher brothers, Ralf, stated that Lewis was the only alternative for Mercedes.

“For me, that means above all that Max canceled at Mercedes,” said Schumacher.
