Lewis Hamilton definitely turns heads whenever he walks into any paddock. His fashion choices and outfits are always the talk of the paddock, almost every single week that he shows up. He is not the one to shy away from designer clothes to wear when doing his track inspections, or even just arriving for the weekend. And this is something that he’s been particularly outspoken about. Hamilton quite enjoys the fashion and design side of things, and can definitely be called one of his top interests apart from Formula 1. In fact, if you take a look at his Instagram, this becomes increasingly evident.
While more than half of his posts are about F1, the other half is dominated by fashion-related posts. Speaking recently to Vogue, Hamilton recommitted to the ethical cause of supporting up-and-coming designers whenever he can. Did you know that this was not his first time either? He previously made a $275,000 statement a couple of years ago.

The Met Gala is a high-profile event in fashion, popularized by the famous red carpet. A lot of celebrities, designers, and models showcase the elaborate outfits that they create, adhering to a certain theme. For people in the industry, the gala is a big deal. However, with table cost being set at $275,000 – it often acts as an entry barrier for up-and-coming designers.
In 2021, Hamilton ensured that he used his riches to promote black, up-and-coming fashion designers. He took proactive steps, buying his own table and inviting four young Black designers as his guests. This move aimed to provide a platform for underrepresented talent, challenging the traditional dynamics of the fashion industry.
