Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes Formula One team are one with each other, seeing them not together is something unlikely to happen. However, there was a rumor up in the air, saying that the Knight could drive for Ferrari instead.

Hamilton could have been given the opportunity to drive one of the classic Ferrari Formula One cars, as a former F1 driver thinks he is the only one capable of driving the car.

The car in question is the Ferrari 312B, which is owned by Paolo Barilla, being asked about his prized possession in an interview with Motorsport.com. He said, ” I drove it in Monte Carlo and it really impressed me. Driving the vehicle is quite difficult, so I will not do it again.”

The 59-year-old added, ” This must be a driver who can convey that feeling when he gets behind the wheel of the car. I think Lewis Hamilton is a very good driver.” ( translated via Google)

Whether Britain’s new knight would take up the offer to offer to drive this iconic car is unknown. The image of seeing Hamilton in a Ferrari is a rare sight to see.

 A possibility at Scuderia

The seven-time world champion had confirmed in the past he was in talks of joining the red team and spoke highly of them. However, that didn’t come to be as Hamilton stated, ” Our positions never fit. I think timing is important and everything is for a reason.” 

Mercedes has just announced that their reigning champion would stick around the Brackley based team for an indefinite amount of time. A  possible eighth world champion for the knight would see him set a record for the world championships.
