Lewis Hamilton Reveals His Most Remarkable Moments from ‘Crazy’ 2020 Year

It was an incredible Formula 1 2020 season for Lewis Hamilton. It was filled with success and the Briton remained in the headlines throughout the year. From the long list of applaudable moments, Lewis managed to depict his favorite moments of 2020 through images.

Lewis posted a few pictures on Instagram, and captioned it as, “A look back on what has been a crazy year.

Impressive Turkish Grand Prix drive from Lewis Hamilton

In the post, there were images showing the emotional moment between Lewis and his father, Anthony Hamilton, after the former won his record-equaling seventh world championship title.

The Turkish Grand Prix is definitely rated as one of Lewis’s best drives in Formula 1. He was not having a great time driving the W11 on an incredibly slippery circuit. However, he displayed stellar race-craft to bring his car home in P1.

Despite not being in the lead for almost 75% of the race, Lewis managed to see the checkered flag with over a 30-second lead over second-placed Sergio Perez.

Eventually, he jumped out of the car and ran to his team from which his father emerged. The two gave each other a tight hug before Lewis left for the podium ceremony.

Lewis’s emotional Belgian Grand Prix

It was a rather painful qualifying session for Lewis at Spa Francorchamps. Lewis joined his team for the session with the news of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman’s unfortunate death in his head.

As a tribute to the actor, Lewis raced hard to carry his car into pole position. Eventually, as he got out of the car, he crossed his arms over his chest to portray the classic “Wakanda Forever” scene from the movie, Black Panther.

Then, during the post-qualifying interview, Lewis also dedicated his pole position to Boseman.

Lewis Hamilton being named ‘Sportsman of the year’

Earlier in February, Lewis was handed an incredibly prestigious award in Berlin. He shared the award with Lionel Messi; for the first time in 20 years, two athletes received equal votes from the jury.

Apart from the two, runner Eliud Kipchoge, Moto GP legend Marc Marquez, Golfer Tiger Woods, and the king of clay, Rafael Nadal were also part of the nominations.

Lewis received the award following a strong 2019 season in Formula 1. The Mercedes driver had won his sixth world championship title then. Considering the dominant season, Lewis was handed the Laureus Sportsman of the year award later in early 2020.

Overall, it was a nerve-racking year for the seven-time world champion, sliding back-and-forth from extreme elation to extreme heartbreak. Will Lewis return even stronger for the next season? And can he manage to make 2021 his most special year?
