Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have turned the F1 world upside down ever since the V6-hybrid era began. In the last seven years, Hamilton has won six world championship crowns, whereas the Silver Arrows have sealed seven constructors’ championship titles. Their dominance has been downright terrifying for rival teams and fans.

Having recently hinted at continuing with the team, even though negotiations seem to be at a standstill, the Briton looks back on all that he has achieved with awe.

It’s not often drivers win title after title after title. Nor is it often to see drivers continue to improve, even though one might think they are already at their peak. Yet, Hamilton is one of those that seem to age like fine wine, getting better with each passing season as he eyes up a record-breaking title number eight in 2021.

But breaking record after record and staying at the top of one’s game isn’t easy. The Mercedes superstar said that it gets, “More and More difficult.”

Hamilton wrapped up his 2020 season with a total of 347 points. The Briton won 11 of the 16 races he took part in and had 14 podium finishes to his name.

Lewis could have even broken his highest ever points tally in F1. However, a shortened season due to the pandemic made that task impossible to achieve. He’d possibly want to address that this year.

But before he hits the track in order to break some more records, he needs to sign on the dotted line with Mercedes.

Hamilton doesn’t have any other option in F1 at the moment. And considering just how much he wants to win his eighth title, it’s only a matter of time before the contract issue gets resolved. With less than two months to go for the season to kick-off, it’s about time Lewis puts his anxious fans at rest.
