Lewis Hamilton Sends Out Message of Love & Support to Fans in Time for Pride Month

The Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is one of the most successful and famous drivers in F1 history. He used his fame to support social causes. And now, Hamilton recently showed support for the LGBTQ+ community on Instagram.

It’s the month of June which is now also recognized as Pride Month. Initially, the Americans celebrated June as Pride Month to recognize the LGBTQ+ community. But in recent years, not only the US but many other countries have celebrated June as Pride Month.

Lewis Hamilton celebrating Pride Month

The seven-time world champion is famous for raising his voice against social injustice. He has stood against discrimination on various occasions. Hamilton even raised his voice in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

The 37-year-old went to his Instagram to post a story wishing Pride Month to everyone. Hamilton’s story read, Happy pride to everyone in the community everywhere. You deserve love, you deserve safety, and you deserve peace. I’m proud to stand in support in any way I can. Love you all.

It was not the first time the Englishman showed his support for the LGBTQ+ community. Last season, Hamilton wore a helmet featuring the Rainbow Flag along with the words “We Stand Together” at the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix.

Hamilton impressed the English intersex activist and columnist Valentino Vecchietti last season with his actions in Qatar. Valentino reported to CNN, “It means everything. I can’t express what an amazing, massive, massive thing Lewis Hamilton has done. And I feel emotional talking about it because we are so hidden and stigmatized as a population.”

Hamilton doesn’t want Mercedes to shift their focus to 2023

The 2022 season hasn’t been kind to the seven-time world champion. Lewis Hamilton has been on the podium once. The English driver has reported struggling with the 2022 car W13 on many occasions.

The reigning constructor champions are not fighting for wins against Ferrari and Red Bull this season. Amid all this, Hamilton suggested the Brackley base to develop the current car before starting work on next season’s challenger.

Let’s see if Mercedes makes a comeback in the future races this season. But working on a new car before solving the W13 will not suit the German constructors.
