Mercedes lovers have finally received some good news after a lengthy wait! And recent reports claim that even if the seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton endures one more season at the wheel of an uncompetitive vehicle, he will stay with the Silver Arrows fighting once again on the grid after a year. It won’t be his last campaign in 2023. Now, this information will come as a cruel rebuke to those who have urged him to give up the sport.
Mercedes entered the preseason testing in an effort to forget its lackluster result in season 2022. Yet other than day 3, where Hamilton ended in second place, none of the days were successful for the Brackley-based side. Moreover, the team was observed struggling with the pace during the practice session. In fact, neither of the practice sessions saw the Mercedes duo finish among the top five.
And the W-14’s lack of competitiveness has fueled rumors about Lewis Hamilton’s contract renewal once again. Speculation stated that the British driver may decide to quit driving for Mercedes if they cannot provide him with a car that can win another championship. But nonetheless, Hamilton asserts that he has been with the German Manufacturer for 13 years now, defeating the odds and clearing up any confusion about his contract.

As per Thetimes.co.uk the Englishman said, “I love the challenge of finding solutions, “I still believe I’m able to put the car in places that perhaps others are not able to. Of course I’d love to start the season with a great car. But there is no hold-up with the contract. I’ve always been very, very relaxed and I don’t feel I have to get it done right this second. I’m in a very fortunate position. There will be a time when it will be signed.”
Although the Silver Arrows have been ailing for a while, they showed some signs of a resurgence in the last stages of the previous season. As of now, no one is expecting Hamilton to challenge reigning champion Max Verstappen in any way. But the British driver nonetheless has confidence in himself and believes that Silver Arrows is still a championship-caliber squad.

Despite Struggling with pace, Mercedes ace Lewis Hamilton is ready to fight for the Championship battle
Mercedes experienced their worst campaign in nearly a decade last year due to porpoising problems. In fact, their star driver, Lewis Hamilton, finished the year without winning a single Grand Prix. Nevertheless, Hamilton is unwavering in his commitment to fighting for the championship, regardless of what the experts and analysts have to say about Silver Arrows’ current form.

In a conversation with Skysports, Mr. optimistic Lewis Hamilton said, “We will find out in the next couple of days for what is realistic. But that’s what I have prepared for. I have prepared myself for a championship battle. Whether or not we have the equipment for a championship battle? We will find out. But I do believe that I have the team, still, who are championship worthy. We will keep our heads down.”
