Lando Norris had a disappointing end to the Jeddah Grand Prix weekend after the race was disarrayed by multiple safety cars. Although Norris managed to finish in the points, he was surely not a happy man. The Mclaren driver has finished 10th in three of the last four races and he is not able to manage his way up through this. Fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton had an encouraging message for Norris after his potential top-5 finish tuned into a fiasco.
Norris was not on board with the FIA rulebook, which allows the drivers to make a pit-stop whenever there is a safety car. Essentially, that cost him a considerable loss of places which he failed to recover through the course of the race.

Lewis Hamilton wants Norris to keep pushing
The Mercedes luminary took home the first-ever chequered flag in Jeddah, his 103rd win in F1. However, the red flag ruined any chance of a stronger result for Norris. The Mclaren driver shared an Instagram post with a caption, “Wonderful race. Lol”

Hamilton is a big fan of Lando himself. After the race in Sochi where the Mclaren driver missed out on his first win, Hamilton lauded the Brit for his incredible pace. After Jeddah, he had a rather motivating message for the young sensation. The Brackley team driver commented “Keep pushing bro” on Norris’ post after the disappointing race on Sunday.
Mixed feelings for Mclaren
Mclaren had a P5 and P10 finish in Jeddah which still keeps them in the fight for third place in the constructors’ championship against Ferrari. Although a botch-up for Norris was sour for the team, Ricciardo was able to redeem some good points in the end.
That race had it all. 😳

“Mixed feelings this evening. However, I’m very happy that, after three very challenging weekends during the triple-header, we’ve responded with a strong performance here in Jeddah. After starting P11 due to his damaged floor yesterday in qualifying, Daniel had a very competitive race to finish P5,” said Andreas Seidl after the race.
“Lando made a strong start and unfortunately was very unlucky with the red flag that cost him a lot of positions – but he fought back well for a point,” he added.
