Over a month has passed by since the chaotic 2021 season finale in Abu Dhabi and Lewis Hamilton is yet to break out of the shell that he wrapped himself in.

Earlier in December last year, the Briton endured what is arguably the most heartbreaking moment of his Formula One career, as he helplessly watched his record eighth title slip out of his hands. Hence, what followed was a social media rage from the seven-time world champion, albeit through his silence.

The Mercedes driver unfollowed every Instagram profile that he had been following over the years. So, until almost the mid of January 2022, he had zero profiles to show under the category of ‘following’. However, in recent days, there has been a change in Hamilton’s Instagram handle.

On Thursday, Hamilton started following one of his fan pages, which is a clear sign that he is starting to come into the world of social media after a month-long detox.

Is Lewis Hamilton returning to Instagram?

Quite a lot of fans noticed Hamilton’s following list jump from 0 to 1 for a brief moment. Upon giving it a check, turns out, the Briton had followed one of his fan pages that went by the name, hamiltonsplanet. However, barely minutes after following the page, the Briton unfollowed it, bringing the number back to zero.

It almost looks like Hamilton is taking an interest in embracing the love of his fans by going through some of the fan pages. This is also a good sign that Hamilton is returning to normalcy after a month of absolute silence with no interviews or messages whatsoever.

Overall, one can affirm that Hamilton is back on social media. Hence, all that’s left to worry about now is whether he is willing to join the Formula One grid in 2022. So far, none of the news has been positive, with Toto Wolff, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, and Zak Brown openly admitting the ever-existing risk of Hamilton quitting F1.
