Lewis Hamilton and Camila Cabello are revving up the ante on their recently sparked friendship. The ‘Senorita’ singer has suddenly become intertwined in the F1 world after her continued presence over the Miami GP weekend. She was seen donning Hamilton’s Plus 44 clothing on Saturday and even teased a musical collaboration with the Mercedes star. Moreover, their joint entry into the Miami International Autodrome indicates something deeper at play, with the MET Gala scheduled for tomorrow.

Hamilton has been a frequent face at the MET Gala. F1’s fashion icon has attended the marquee event 5 times – 2015, 2016, 2018. 2019, and 2021. In his last appearance, he even gave Black designers a seat at the table. With the 2024 MET Gala set for the 6th of May, will he make his much-awaited comeback? Judging by his brewing friendship with Camila Cabello, who has already confirmed her presence at the fashion event, it could be on the cards.

The American singer-songwriter began this F1 week by giving a first look into her new music at the Susie Wolff-led F1 Academy event with American Express. Coming into the F1 paddock on Sprint Race day, she rocked a +44 NASA jacket from Hamilton’s brand’s latest drop. He even reposted her Instagram images. Moreover, Hamilton reposting Cabello’s Instagram story of them in a recording studio was more surprising and sparked rumors of a potential musical collaboration.

Today, only a few hours before the Miami GP, the duo was seen arriving together in the Hard Rock Stadium, which is the NFL stadium nestled in the F1 circuit. Hamilton drove Cabello in in a $495,000 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The soon-to-be Ferrari driver then took his Latin Grammy-winning friend for hot laps, performing a classic ‘donut’ burnout.

Fans seem to be all for this brewing friendship between the celebrity duo. This opens quite some doors for possible collaborations, including but not limited to the MET Gala after the Miami GP. Interestingly, Camila Cabello isn’t the first celebrity that Hamilton has taken for a joyride this weekend.
