In a recent video uploaded on the brand’s YouTube and Twitter, the 7-time world champion talks about the car while sharing details about his personal life.
By now, almost everyone knows that Lewis Hamilton has always been a movie buff, and he’s always been vocal about it. He is not only a fan of watching movies but also has acted in the Cars-related animated movies; however, when it comes to his main genre, action, Hamilton admires one Hollywood actor more than the rest.

The promotion video for the car is an interview about what Lewis Hamilton keeps in his AMG GT 63. Along with questions about the car, Hamilton is asked to show a picture of his pooch, Roscoe. Beyond that, he talks about various topics, from diversity to Mission 44. While he discussed some of the more serious topics, he also spoke about his love for movies.
Lewis: "I currently have a documentary I'm doing with Apple, and then I'm doing the F1 movie. Being an 80s baby, I particularly love movies from the 80s, 90s. I really like Tom Cruise and a lot of stuff he does […] I just feel like the older movies are a little bit better." pic.twitter.com/Kd6m6t3qNV

This confession of the 7-time world champion liking Tom Cruise movies is no surprise considering he has mentioned this in the past. What is less known to fans is the fact that the F1 driver and Mission Impossible actor are friends. There was also a time when the Hollywood star offered Briton Champion a role in his movie.
The mission was impossible for Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton has mentioned how Top Gun has been one of his favorite movie franchises of all time. It was back in 2014 when the F1 driver was invited to the shoot for the film Edge of Tomorrow. Ever since then, the two have become friends and have remained in touch.

Once, while the two were talking, Cruise mentioned a second Top Gun movie and suggested Hamilton play a role in the movie. To this, the F1 driver got excited and responded, “Dude, if you ever do Top Gun 2, I will even be a janitor. Just let me be in it.” However, when it came time to shoot the movie, the Briton could not make it due to his commitments with Formula 1.
Hamilton later on explained why it was fine that he didn’t do the part, saying, “Firstly, I hadn’t even had, like, an acting lesson. And I don’t want to be the one that lets this movie down. And then secondly, I just really didn’t have the time to dedicate to it.”

The 7-time world champion would want to do justice to a movie if he were to act in it, but due to time restraints, it could not become a reality. However, this is not the only chance Hamilton has to star in a movie. That being said, are you excited about the F1 movie coming out soon? Let us know your thoughts on it in the comments below.
