Lewis Hamilton established himself above everyone in F1 once before. He toppled several records earlier, but no one thought he would skim past Schumacher’s records. Now that he has, is he willing to stop?
Over the past few weeks. Lewis Hamilton has been hinting at retiring and this being his last season. Meanwhile, he has expressed his excitement for the new regulations for 2022. Under such clouds of mystery, fans are clueless about what to expect.
Several pundits in the game have already led out their predictions about champion’s future. Max Chilton, the former F1 racer at Marrusia, draws an unusual angle to the Briton’s days ahead.

“What I can see happening is Lewis doing one more year with Mercedes, winning that record-breaking 8th title, and then retiring.
“I can’t see him following Fernando Alonso in trying to win the triple crown and competing in Le Mans, Dakar and the Indy 500.” wrote Chilton.
Earning the triple crown is a dream for many in the world of motorsports. However, Lewis has expressed nothing of the sort. Previously, he had mentioned that F1 was his dream, and he appears to be doing well at it.

Lewis Hamilton eyes record eighth championship
Sunday, the Briton might get crowned the F1 champion for this season again. With Bottas holding a thin line to stop him, the probability of the otherwise is slim. Thus, he would equal Schumacher’s mammoth seven championship record as well.
The hunger to be the best in the race has seen Lewis so far. It is unlikely for him to give up on that last morsel – 8th World Championship. The Briton and the Silver Arrows have worked hard to get over everyone. They will not want to drop that.

“I can’t see Lewis leaving Mercedes. Lewis clearly wants a record 8th world title, and the best place for that to happen is with Mercedes. They have the best car, so why would he want to bring this record-breaking partnership to an end?

“We have seen this season that the only driver who has put him under pressure is his teammate Valtteri Bottas, so why give up that advantage?” concluded Chilton.
The questions raised by Chilton are food for thought. If the Briton does fancy another championship, he might as well stay at the Silver Arrows. The concern would be his favorites leaving camp.
