After Lewis crossed the line, Toto got on to the radio to talk to Lewis. Toto conveyed, “Lewis, hi. Sorry for what you have needed to drive today. I know this is undrivable and not what we deserved to score as a result. So we move from there, but this was a terrible race.”

Hamilton replied to it, “Yeah, no worries, Toto. Let’s keep working hard.”

Toto concluded, “Yeah, we will. We will come out of this.”

Where does Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes stand after the Italian GP?

The start of the weekend hasn’t been good enough for the Brackley-based team. Lewis finished his qualification in Q2 in P13 while George Russell finished in P11. Despite having a chance to go up the places in the sprint race, the Mercedes boys failed to make amends. For Hamilton, it was even worse as he slumped to one more place to start Sunday’s race at P14.

After the fourth round of F1 in Italy, Mercedes slipped down to P3 in Constructor’s Championship with 77 points. However, thanks to George Russell’s mighty performance that saw the new recruit snatch a P4 position after starting from P11, the German team stay clear of P4 McLaren by quite a margin.
