Charles Leclerc emerged as a sensation after taking the world of F2 by storm. The feeder series is highly competitive, and the Monegasque won the championship in his rookie season. Now, it’s his younger brother Arthur who is trying his hand in the series, hoping to make it in F1 one day like his sibling. In times like this, his guidance can act as a golden path. However, the elder sibling reveals the different approach he takes with his brother, much like the way his father did with him.

Charles, after shining in his rookie season in F2, joined Alfa Romeo (known as Sauber back then) in F1. The rookie once again impressed the stakeholders enough to earn a call from Ferrari next season. His father, Herve, was a motorsport racer himself but could never make it in F1. He guided his son to realize that dream but died before watching him race in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Formula 2 runs a popular series called ‘Chasing the Dream’ and the latest episode focuses on Arthur and his DAMS teammate Ayumu Iwasa. A section of the episode had an interview with Charles, where he talked about being Arthur’s mentor.

He told, “My father always did a step back and let me grow in my own sports. And that’s exactly the approach that I try to have with Arthur. Whenever he needs help, he knows he can call me and I’ll help him. But just to stay calm, be patient because Formula 2 is a difficult series, especially for rookies. You need to learn quite a lot of things. It’s the first time in your life where you actually deal with strategies. So, there are loads of new things and it will take time for him to get used to. But yeah, if he’s patient, I’m sure that the results will be great.”
