“Change your fu****g car,” shouted a rather boastful Christian Horner at Toto Wolff when the team principals had gathered to discuss the horrific porpoising issues that Mercedes suffered with the most. For the uninitiated, this duo has been at loggerheads with each other since the beginning of time. If we remove the exaggeration, then it comes down to a little over a decade. And rightly so, as the championship battles have only seen two teams at the helm, and an exchange of guards between this duo is what keeps it spicy. Talking of spice, Toto Wolff’s repartee involving Horner has caught fans’ attention.

Red Bull and its sister team AlphaTauri have had a rather solid management setup, as the two have seen the same TPs oversee them. However, that is set to change as Alpha Tauri’s TP, Franz Tost is set to hang his boots after serving the team from the inception. The departure of the man who has headed the team since it was Toro Rosso led to a funny turn of events, with Wolff cracking a joke.

During a press conference at Miami, Wolff sat with two from the opposite clan, i.e. Tost and Horner. Speaking about who the longest-serving F1 team boss is, Wolff turned to Horner saying, “So, you’re next to go? Would make life easier.” While there was an obvious burst of laughter there. F1 Twitter isn’t far behind.
