Perhaps not as exhilarating as racing but the last couple of weeks have been exciting for all Formula 1 fans. All teams periodically unveiled their 2023 cars which will take on the challenge in 2023. Some teams took to the track after unveiling the car whereas most stuck to just showcasing their cars. However, no team got their fans excited as much as Mercedes did in their unveiling. Lewis Hamilton and Co. raised the bar of livery launches by delivering exactly what the fans demanded.

Hamilton, as we all know, is a champion of equality, diversity, and most social injustices. This also motivated Hamilton to convince his team to produce a black livery. His wish came true in the form of W11 and W12. Mercedes went back to its original colors in W13. However, W13’s underwhelming performance in 2022 left a sour taste in the team’s mouth.

This hugely unsuccessful aspect of W13 called for a change in Mercedes. However, this time it wasn’t just Hamilton leading the agenda for change. According to a photo posted by Mercedes on Twitter, it was the fans that pushed the team in a particular direction. The direction? Back to black!

As seen in the photo on Twitter, most fans wanted the team to bring back the black livery. This time fans were on Hamilton’s previous wavelength and Mercedes delivered.

Mercedes fans showcase their love for Lewis Hamilton and Co. after the launch of W14

The Mercedes admin posted a photo on Twitter showcasing the various comments from the fans asking for a black car. The Brackley-based outfit clearly delivered on the fans’ expectations and there was nothing but love from the fans.

One fan even pointed out how the team’s compliance is giving birth to a new tradition. @ManuelSanchezX tweeted, “Fans spoke. A black livery was requested. The team delivered. Despite the strong tradition of silver cars. This is how new traditions are born.”

The fans also loved the shoutout on the Mercedes page making them feel a part of the team.
