In recent years, Formula 1 has been gaining an immense level of recognition from all around the world, including celebrities from Hollywood. After witnessing the cameos of Vin Diesel and Khaby Lame at Monza, the latest to welcome a celebrity are McLaren and their driver, Daniel Ricciardo.

The McLaren Technology Centre, situated in Woking, had a guest to address on Wednesday – Dax Shepard.

The American actor/podcast host took a visit to McLaren’s headquarters, with Italian GP winner, Ricciardo, and his manager, Blake Friend, being the tour guides.

Following the tour around the headquarters, Shepard took to social media to open up about his experience with the Formula 1 outfit in the United Kingdom. He uploaded pictures of himself posing alongside championship-winning cars on display, including closed-cockpit race cars.

What a day. Thank you Daniel Ricciardo, McLaren, and my side-piece Blake. I’m a lucky motherf**ker,” he captioned.

Soon, Ricciardo, too, commented on the post, reckoning that he is hoping to meet Shepard at the track soon. “next stop, race track,” the former Red Bull driver replied.

Who is Shepard and is he a fan of Daniel Ricciardo?

Shepard is quite a known face in the film industry, popularly known for his role in the movie called The Judge, which was also nominated for the Oscars in 2014. Apart from movies, Shepard was also the host of the 2020 edition of Top Gear America.

What’s more, the American owns and hosts a podcast, named ‘Armchair Expert,’ which helped him get nominated as the ‘Top Podcast of the Year’ in the People’s Choice Award, 2020.

Interestingly, while Shepard enjoys Formula 1 racing, his spouse, Kristen Bell, the actor famously known for her lead role in ‘The Good Place’ TV series, apparently doesn’t enjoy the sport.

In one of her recent Instagram stories, she recorded herself curled up in her quilt late in the night while Shepard was busy watching a Grand Prix. She wrote, “it’s 12:30 AM… But it’s 11:30 AM at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and my husband is also dating Daniel Ricciardo. So, can’t turn it off.

Overall, Formula 1 is indeed starting to gain popularity, and there is no denying that more such celebrities are going to make a cameo or two during the forthcoming Grand Prix weekends. But, the question is, will this positive trend continue for F1 in the long run?
