In a conversation with Sergio Perez after the race, Daniel was heard saying “take a year off, and come back in 2024” to the Mexican. While the context of the conversation is still unknown, it was enough to activate chaos mode on Twitter and send his fandom into a frenzy.
Daniel also described on his team radio after the Dutch GP that “it has been pretty painful of late”. However, he is looking forward to Monza where he won last year and McLaren secured a 1-2 finish.
With the silly season traveling to Italy next week, McLaren and Daniel will be looking to showcase their potential at the ‘Temple of Speed’. The former Red Bull driver will hope that he can finish his McLaren tenure on a strong note and impress someone to offer him a seat for next year.
