Teams like Ferrari and McLaren have been great in the three days of tests. Even Alpha Tauri and Williams showed glimpses of speed, whereas Red Bull and Mercedes didn’t show anything special in the first two days. However, the last day saw Lewis Hamilton topping the timesheet. With the other Mercedes of George Russell following in closely, the Bulls and Papaya cars followed in.

Despite the good runs by Ferrari, the top executive is reluctant to accept that this is all. In regard to the testing at Barcelona, the Italian team boss stated in an interview, “I think it’s too early to judge performance. Some teams are hiding more speed than others. We have to look at the testing in Bahrain and the first races.”

Talking about Ferrari’s plan post-testing session at Barcelona, Binotto further stated, “At the beginning of the season, we will try to unleash the full potential of the car and make the first update. The changes we will make will be small things, not serious things. So at the start of the season, we will mostly focus on unleashing the full potential of the current car.”
