New two-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen has recently opened up on the working culture of F1. The Red Bull driver in a way fired shots on how everything works in the premium form of motorsport in a recent interview with the Sky Sports F1.

During the interview, Verstappen talking about the allegations on Red Bull said, “I think it’s mainly because we’re doing well, they will try to slow us down in any way possible but at the end of the day, that’s how F1 works, you know. Everyone at the end of the day a bit hypocritical. I’m fine with that. We just have to focus on our job.”

When asked about the Red Bull cost cap controversy, the Dutchman further stated after he was fully supported by his teammate Sergio Perez, “I mean nothing has been confirmed yet, but as a team, we know what we have to deal with and I think we were very clear on what we think was correct, so that’s why it’s still ongoing and at the end of the day it’s also it’s not my job you know. It’s between the team and the FIA.”

Max Verstappen recently picked up his second F1 world title after the win in Japan. However, a day after the 25-year-old retained his title, the FIA released a statement that said his team has breached the 2021 cost cap set up by the governing body.

Despite the recent budget cap controversy, Red Bull Racing’s star driver Max Verstappen is having a phenomenal season so far in Formula 1. The Dutch driver not only retained his championship but also broke Lewis Hamilton’s record of 11 victories in a single season.

The Dutchman raked in as many as 12 victories so far in the 2022 F1 season. With 18 races down, Verstappen has two wins in every three races he participated in this year.

However, with four races to go, Verstappen perhaps now has his eyes set on another record that will see him become as one of the greatest in the sport. F1 greats Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher recorded 13 wins in 2013 and 2004, respectively. Verstappen is just one win away from equaling them and two wins away from overtaking them.

However, people are calling out the advantage the Red Bull ace has with the season now consisting of more races than before. Vettel and Schumacher have completed the insane feat in 19 and 18 races as compared to 22 races now. With four more races to go, it’ll be interesting to see if Max Verstappen will be able to break this record.
