2-time world champion Max Verstappen is currently on a contract with Red Bull that will run until the end of 2028. The Dutchman has maintained that he will stay with the Austrian team throughout his career in Formula 1. However, fellow Dutchman and professional racer Tim Coronel feels he might join Ferrari at some point in his career.

Max Verstappen joined Red Bull when he was just 17. Before that, he spent a year with the sister team Toro Rosso. After impressing with some phenomenal performances, they promoted young Verstappen to the main team where he has remained ever since.

Will Max Verstappen join Ferrari?

Max Verstappen secured his second World Drivers’ Championship (WDC) in Japan with 4 races to go. While there were clouds of controversy over his first title win last year, no one can question his ability to compete at the highest level after this year’s performances. With the current dominant run he is having with Red Bull, few would think he will move elsewhere.

Tim Coronel, talking about Max’s chances of joining Mercedes said, “He will never race there again, never again. There is such a blemish.” “But Ferrari on the other hand… As a driver you always want to have raced at Ferrari. You want two things: make it to Formula One and you want to drive for Ferrari. If you have driven for Ferrari as a Formula One driver, then it comes full circle. Then everything is done, been successful. I know you don’t want to be in Ferrari now, I understand that, but just look: all champions go to Ferrari,” he continued.

Max Verstappen on what he will do when he turns 40

Much to his fans’ dismay, Max Verstappen recently revealed he does not want to keep racing in Formula 1 when he turns 40. He maintained that while he is having fun right now, there is “other stuff” he wants to do as well.

Now the fans are free to get speculative as to what the Dutchman meant when he said “other stuff”. Could it mean a desire to join some other league like NASCAR or IndyCar?
