Max Verstappen Doesn’t Want to ‘B*tch Fight’ Leclerc Over Sakhir GP DNF

The Sakhir Grand Prix was an interesting stretch of 87 laps around at the Bahrain International Circuit. The race saw Russell unleash the beast within him and two drivers claim their maiden podium in F1. Sounds optimistic? Well, Max Verstappen and Leclerc might disagree to the same.
The Bahrain International Circuit witnessed two huge incidents back to back. The first leg saw Grosjean jumping out from a fireball and the second saw Charles and Max retiring from a crash that could have been far worse. Yet, both the drivers have appeared very calm and mature following the incident.
Max Verstappen never brought back his on track conflicts outside the tarmac. He and Leclerc both are talented drivers on the grid. They know that fighting over an issue would not lead them anywhere. Instead, they learn from it and move on.

“I’m not interested at all. I just want to do the race here and then go home. It’s what it is. So no point trying to just have a kind of a b*tch fight, and keep going on, talking to each other. It doesn’t matter. We both retired, and it’s what it is.” highlighted the Dutchman.
Well, Max Verstappen is not that hot-headed teenager anymore. His maturity sparks from his words.
Max Verstappen maturing with his years in F1
Max Verstappen breathed burned tires since childhood. However, he was lacking a calm head desperately needed to tackle the tense sport of F1. Therefore, he took some time to get around the affair. Yet his spirit to win never faded away. He fought back every time, learned the essential lessons, and fared better.
The manner in which Max dealt with his DNF at Sakhir is commendable. The 23-year-old Dutch national made no tantrums, and neither did he blame anyone. He accepted responsibility and acknowledged that Charles too was helpless.

“I didn’t see the gravel, but I couldn’t have done anything else, because if I would have just tried to brake more and try to wait for Checo to stop spinning, basically I would have probably got hit by Charles, because his wheel was hanging off”
“So there was nowhere to go, and it was just super unlucky that it was a bit of gravel, and that’s why you just understeer into the wall.” concluded Max.
Disappointment will grasp Max. This season he has had several DNFs that took his chance away to challenge the Mercedes drivers. However, he does not let the disgust get the better of him. He comes back every week, stronger than before, pushing Hamilton and Bottas to the edge.
