It will be a year of celebration for Max Verstappen as the Dutchman looks set to pick up his second championship title. The Red Bull man could’ve picked up the title at the Singapore GP itself. However, finishing seventh wasn’t enough to do so. Although, Verstappen received a gift regardless.

Verstappen celebrated his 25th birthday on the 30th of September, right before the Singapore GP weekend. Accompanying him on the trip to the island country was his model girlfriend, Kelly Piquet. The daughter of the three-time F1 world champion, Nelson Piquet, shared her trip on Instagram with several photos.
One such photo showcased Verstappen’s supposed gift from Kelly Piquet of a hilarious yet cute watch. The watch in question is a retro remake from Swiss watch manufacturer Swatch. The watch that retails at $40 dollars is called Flik Flak, a remake of the classic 1987 version.

The hilarious aspect is, the watch was first created in 1987 by Flik Flak as the first Swiss watch for kids. In the photo Piquet shared, the Red Bull man is wearing the Retro Blue version of the watch.
The 2022 version gets some upgrades on the watch. The new cases have replaced aluminum with bio-sourced plastic, including a retro metallic-look finish.
The watch was first produced 10 years before Verstappen was even born. The website even features testimonials from people whose first watch was Flik Flak. Even though Verstappen can’t say his first watch was Flik Flak, the world champion can surely contribute to the testimonials.
