Fernando Alonso, I like his style: Max Verstappen

During a question asked by a fan in the driver’s press conference, Verstappen stated he likes Fernando Alonso‘s driving style. Lance Stroll, who was sitting with him, agreed with him.

“Fernando Alonso, I like his style,” said Verstappen on who would he be rooting for if they had not competed in the races him. Stroll also took Alonso’s name when asked the same.

“Me too. I cheered for him before I became a driver myself,” said Stroll.

Max’s pick is interesting, as Alonso had previously mentioned that currently, he would not like to race Max in F1.

“I respect Max a lot. At the moment, in the Red Bull environment with his team, with his experience there, I don’t think that many drivers can join Red Bull and beat Max. If you took Max out of Red Bull, maybe you [would] have a better chance.” said Fernando.

It is high praise for Max, as Alonso, like Verstappen, is known as a teammate killer. It is a pity that we have not seen both of them race against each other in a wheel-to-wheel battle this season often.
