Max Verstappen Makes a Private Request to Red Bull F1 Owner After Austrian GP Win

Max Verstappen is currently in the form of his life. He secured a hat-trick of victories in the recently concluded tripleheader, two of which were on his team’s home turf, at the Red Bull Ring. In light of this, he made a private request to the team owner, Dietrich Mateschitz.

Max Verstappen requests team owner to rename Red Bull Ring

The Milton Keynes-based team shared a video from their official YouTube account to celebrate their consecutive victories at Red Bull Ring. Verstappen, who has won four races at the Red Bull Ring made a hilarious request to Mateschitz, the co-founder and 49% owner of the Red Bull energy drink company.

“If I win five times here, I am gonna ask Dietrich to change the name to Verstappen ring,” said the current championship leader.

“I mean I knew we had a good car, and we would have a strong race but to win it by this margin, it was very satisfying,” added the Dutchman.

The 23-year-old won the Styrian and Austrian GP by a margin of 35 and 18 seconds, respectively.

Max Verstappen is only 23-years-old and has at least a decade of Formula 1 ahead of him. While he knows he’s in his twenties and age won’t be a problem for him anytime soon, he knows it can become an obstacle if you’re a sportsperson. However, he believes that the experience you gain as you age can compensate for anything.

He said, “by experience over the years I think you understand more of the car, of the tyres, the tracks you’ve been to, bad and good situations you’ve been in. Because it’s all about the small details at the end of the day that make the difference in Formula 1.

“That just gives you that little bit more confidence, preparation and understanding in those decisive moments to pull out a good lap, or just be competitive in general. I think that just gets better every year and you never stop learning. When you are 35 or 36, you have that experience in your bag.”
