Max Verstappen Not Happy with the Makers of Drive to Survive

The second season of Drive to Survive is live on Netflix today and we can’t hold our excitement. This season will feature an episode on Max Verstappen’s 2019 campaign with Red Bull F1. Last season Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo‘s 2018 Baku incident was featured extensively in the series.
The incident became a major issue of conflict between Max and Danny and the show’s 1st season covered it in detail.
It is reported that one episode of season two will feature Max Verstappen’s contract extension with Red Bull F1. Last year, Verstappen signed an extension with the team till 2023.

Max Verstappen expressed his feeling about Drive to Survive in an interview with Youtuber Anas Bukhash in his show ‘ABtalks’
“I don’t think that it was the real me”, Max Verstappen
Verstappen said that since the show focuses on creating exciting content. The makers will position anyone in whatever way the scene requires. They utilize his words under various conditions thus twisting its meaning.

He said, “It’s a series, so I don’t think it was the real me.”

“The problem is they will always position you in a way they want, so whatever you say, they will try to make you look reckless or trying to make you whatever fits the story of the series,” he said. “So I never really liked that. I prefer to just have a one-on-one interview with the person who would like to know me.”
Verstappen admitted that he can be reluctant to open up in interviews. He likes to be as real as possible and only speak when it is needed. Whereas, if he doesn’t have anything to say, he prefers to stay quiet and it works the best for him.

He added, “I’m just easy going and I’m very determined to win.”
“I would like to do everything for it because my life it’s my passion. Sometimes it might seem arrogant or whatever but I’m there to win.”
