Since the contentious Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2021, Max Verstappen has arguably attracted a lot of attention for a number of reasons. The attention sometimes results from his on-track antics, and other times, it results from his extravagant hobbies. But as per the latest developments, it seems that the Dutchman is a little misunderstood. For his most recent media appearance, he was present at the unveiling of the 2023 Red Bull car. There, he let his fans know about a misunderstanding that Red Bull Taskmaster Helmut Marko had propagated.

Recently, Helmut Marko made the remark in reference to the 25-year-old’s love for racing simulators. According to Marko, a race simulator was reportedly installed in Max Verstappen’s private jet. While conversing with Sport 1, Marko said, “He even had his private plane converted so that he can drive a simulator in the air. But that’s a good thing because Max needs this distraction. In any case, it didn’t hurt him with his two titles.” [Translated using Google]

However, Verstappen asserts that Marko might have merely erred by thinking a motorhome was a plane. While speaking at Red Bull’s 2023 vehicle launch in New York, he revealed that he is installing a simulator in the new Motorhome that will serve as his base during this season’s European racing weekends.

As per Motorsport-Total.com, Verstappen said, ” I like that, it’s my hobby, and it keeps you on your toes. And in the evenings, maybe even during a Formula 1 weekend, I could sit in the simulator for two or three hours. But I’m not going to build a simulator in my plane, I think that would be a little absurd.”

Max’s comments make it quite evident that he won’t be installing any simulators on his $15 million private jet.

Verstappen seems to have been pretty busy the last several days. Yesterday the double champion was found at the Red Bull car launch in New York and only a few days prior, he signed a multi-billion dollar contract with EA Sports, which has helped to raise his brand value.

Max Verstappen joins hands with EA Sports

Everyone is aware of Verstappen’s love for video games. The Dutchman has really demonstrated his love for sim racing and gaming, in general, numerous times, with pricey gaming setups. Hence, it shouldn’t have surprised anyone when Verstappen revealed his collaboration with EA Sports on Twitter. Currently, EA creates the yearly video games for Formula 1.
