There is nothing like the solidarity between the Red Bull family on the entire paddock. AlphaTauri and Red Bull often work closely and this creates an incredible environment. The Frenchman made his Formula 1 debut with Red Bull’s sister team AlphaTauri (then Toro Rosso) in 2017. Despite his small and disappointing stint with Red Bull that came in 2019, Gasly remained a loyal servant until the end of the current season. The Frenchman, however, will drive for the French team Alpine from 2023 onwards, leaving the Red Bull family.

Gasly’s time at the AlphaTauri earned him a few friends. One such friend, Verstappen, appreciated Gasly in his farewell message.

“We go way back. We already started racing each other early on in go-karting. Of course, we both became part of the Red Bull family. We became teammates as well in Formula 1,” stated the Dutchman.

“I know you’re incredibly talented. You work really hard for everything to achieve everything you have done already so far. You have been a real team leader as well at AlphaTauri, which I have a lot of respect for.”

He then addressed his move to Alpine. “But I also understand your new challenge. It’s been great to have you as a part of the whole family. It’s two teams, but its one big family. But I’m also really excited for your future and especially the coming years,” he added.

Surely a genuine heartfelt message for Gasly from Verstappen. Not just this, but the two even shared a moment on the track in Japan doing doughnuts.

However, despite the separation, Verstappen believes their paths will cross again.

Gasly’s disappointing stint at Red Bull alongside the Dutchman did not stop him from maintaining a healthy relationship with him. The farewell message tells us that. This is exactly why Verstappen wants their paths will cross again.

“Maybe our paths will cross again. We are all very young still. You are an amazing driver and I really wish you all the best. I really hope that next year already will be a great start for you in a chapter,” he concluded.
