F1 is unpredictable for several drivers and their careers. While one career move might be a masterstroke and give them loads of championships, one bad season and a world-champion driver might not win another championship ever. The reigning champion Max Verstappen may have a similar fork in the road for his career.
Former Red Bull driver David Coulthard has been a huge Max Verstappen supporter. Recently, speaking with the FORMULE1 magazine, the British driver spoke talked about how Verstappen has already registered his name in the list of the legendary drivers of F1.

Though Coulthard also mentioned how nothing is permanent in F1 and Max may not win another world championship after 2022. He said, “The Verstappen era may well be over after two titles. Not because he’s not a brilliant driver, but he may not have a title-worthy car in the coming seasons. Nobody knows that in advance.” [translated via Google]
The former McLaren driver gave an example of Lewis Hamilton and how he could have had 9 championships instead of 7, with some luck. He added, “Lewis [Hamilton], even with all he has already achieved, could have been a nine-time champion instead of a seven-time champion.”
He concluded, “Just like Max [Verstappen] doesn’t need three [titles] to be seen as one of the best. Max is already one of the greats.”

Is Max Verstappen emulating the path of Other World Champions?
People have compared Max Verstappen with several multiple world champions. The Dutchman’s 2022 performances have been evidence of the fact that he may emulate one of the previous champions’ career graphs.
Max was supreme at Spa-Francorchamps this season, winning the Belgian GP from P14 on the grid. Many compared this drive to Michael Schumacher‘s 1995 drive in Belgium, winning from P16 on the grid.
