Max Verstappen gives his take on Lewis Hamilton championship win
As reported by The Guardian, the Dutch driver mentioned that it would have been more painful for him to lose the title as compared to Hamilton. Over the course of the season, Verstappen was the more consistent driver of the two and led the championship race for almost the entire season.

“For me, it’s difficult to picture myself in that situation, because I’m not a seven-time world champion. If I was already a seven-time world champion, it hurts a bit less than when I am fighting for my first, leading all the way, controlling it all the way, and then losing it on the last lap.

That would be way more painful than already having seven in the bag. Yeah, but just look back on the seven you have. I don’t think it’s so bad, is it?” said the Red Bull driver.

It would be hard for Verstappen to sympathize with Hamilton after beating him to the championship, especially after incidents like those in Silverstone. The Mercedes driver would look to bounce back in the next season and take the title away from Max. Hopefully, we’ll see another thrilling title fight between these two supremely talented drivers in 2022.
