Max Verstappen’s “Cannibal” Approach Reminiscent of 7x World Champion Michael Schumacher

Carving your own niche in Formula 1 is the goal for all the drivers that compete at the highest level of motorsports, but only a few can achieve such a feat. Max Verstappen’s legacy as a stalwart of the sport is being cemented right before our very eyes. On his way to a second consecutive World Championship, he has been compared with the cream of F1 by one very important personality within the paddock.

Recently, Stefano Domenicali has showered praise on Max Verstappen. He explained why he feels that the Red Bull ace is exactly like the great Michael Schumacher. This comes on the back of Verstappen’s killer run of form, where he might be crowned Champion as soon as the Singapore Grand Prix.

Domenicali remarked, “He does look like Michael in that he focuses on everything he does on the track.”. He went on to explain, “He’s a cannibal, he doesn’t look at anyone. He reminds me a lot of Michael in that.” (translated via Google Translate).

Verstappen‘s dominance in 2022 has been jaw-dropping. However, that does not necessarily mean he has not shown this potential before. Being compared to Michael Schumacher must feel good. Having said that, being compared to Ayrton Senna – now that’s something special altogether.

Max Verstappen is on the path to becoming Red Bull‘s greatest ever driver. And Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko seems to agree. Recently, while speaking to the media, the Austrian compared Max Verstappen to a young Ayrton Senna.
