The 2022 F1 summer break was one of the most interesting periods in terms of news, controversies, updates, and confusion. The stormy silly season kept the fraternity entertained as Alpine, Aston Martin and McLaren fell prey to the drama the season brings. As the summer break is finally over with the Belgian Grand Prix this week, F1 fans on Twitter were excited to see what the tensions of the driver market have to bring.

From drivers choosing retirement to drivers jumping ships to teams getting confused about their drivers, it has been a good period in the world of F1. Heavyweights like Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, and Oscar Piastri all got involved along with their teams.

Everything started when Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement a few weeks back. The former Ferrari driver opened up his Instagram account only to announce his retirement from the sport at the end of this season.

FIA has allotted Otmar Szafnauer of Alpine, Mike Krack of Aston Martin, and Andreas Seidl of McLaren to have the press conference for the Belgian GP on Saturday. This decision made the F1 fans go crazy. Soon after this, the fans started relating this to Alonso, Piastri, and Alpine row.
