If the Formula 1 paddock has an icon that everyone unequivocally agrees is a fashion diva, it’s Lewis Hamilton. Every race weekend, the seven-time champion strides into the paddock with a striking new outfit. If there’s one person who’s the absolute opposite of Hamilton when it comes to fashion, it’s Max Verstappen. He walks into the paddock wearing the usual Red Bull kit every weekend. And for a long time, his best friend Lando Norris was like that, too. But now, it looks like F1’s making way for Lando Norris: The Diva as well!

What a difference five years in F1 can make. For Norris, his biggest problem while entering the paddock more often than not was the fact that he forgot his Paddock Pass. Now, his biggest problem is looking good for the cameras. And the US GP was practically a nightmare for him in that sense.

Lando Norris probably regretted his hoodie choice

When it comes to drivers’ fashion sense, people don’t tend to gravitate towards Norris. Mostly because he’s not the best judge of temperature and weather conditions. In sweltering heat, he strides into the paddock wearing sweatshirts and hoodies while everyone else wears the bare minimum. The conditions in Austin last weekend weren’t any better, but he got a free pass for the weekend. Why? It was his 100th race.

In light of his centennial race in F1, the 23-year-old released limited-edition merchandise. Of course, it had to feature his favorite—a hoodie. Considering that, it made sense that he wanted to flaunt his new merchandise. But at what cost? Apart from his questionable choice of clothing, one thing Norris is known for is his curly hair (which isn’t the easiest to tame). And that’s what had him cursing as he prepared to enter the Austin paddock.

It’s safe to assume that Norris put on his hoodie right before getting out of the car. In the process, he ruined his previously tamed hair, and that didn’t please him. Using the car windows as his mirror, he said, “Oh no, game over. See, my hair is too curly and freaking messy. Once it’s gone, there’s no return.” Oh, Lando. Will your obsession with hoodies ever end in your favor? Following his outburst about his curly hair, Norris expressed his dissatisfaction with another fashion choice of his.

“Do you like my baggy jeans, mate? I just told someone, ‘Can you buy me some stuff to make me look cooler, and they got me these things,” he cribbed. Looks like he was more pleased at the Mexican GP.

Norris’ stylist did wonders at the Mexican GP

After what Norris revealed after his fashion faux pas at the US GP, it’s confirmed he has a stylist choosing his clothes for him. When he isn’t wearing one of his Quadrant or McLaren hoodies, know that more likely than not, it’s his stylist who’s done the outfit picking. The Mexican GP was one of those rare occasions when he wasn’t in a hoodie. Instead, he wore faded blue jeans and paired them with a three-layer ensemble on top—a t-shirt, on top of which was a pale yellow sweater, over which he wore a grey jacket.

Oh, and he didn’t seem annoyed with his hair. The outfit, paired with Nike sneakers, impressed fans. So when McLaren posted pictures of him on Twitter (now X), writing, “Lando has landed in Mexico! 💚🤍❤️ #MexicoGP,” they couldn’t stop gushing over the fit, writing things like “Looking sharp!” “The fit????? Slayyy 💅🏻” and “Oh Landooo you looking good.”
