Many F1 fans believe that if Max Verstappen’s dominance continues, then one day in the near future after waking up we’ll be met with an orange sky. The support that Max Verstappen gets from the Orange Army is incredible. However, in a hilarious turn of events at the Dutch GP, Oscar Piastri plots a conspiracy to snatch away Max Verstappen’s orange army. What is Oscar Piastri planning?

The orange army will go wherever Max Verstappen goes. There are already more than a couple of songs written about Verstappen’s dominance and titles. Verstappen’s army is omnipresent at every track within their orange attire and along with the orange smoke flares. One can only imagine the craze at Verstappen’s home GP. Yet, Oscar Piastri has a devious plan to steal the fans away. What is it?

Remember how McLaren was nicknamed the Papaya team some years ago? And the fans were named the Papaya Army. Technically, papaya is very closely matched to the orange color. And this is what the basis of Oscar Piastri’s plan is. According to @TheMcLarenZone’s tweet that quoted McLarenF1, Oscar Piastri said, “A lot of slightly off-coloured papaya fans this weekend, so we’ll see how many we can change to actual papaya fans.”

Oscar Piastri plans on turning the Max Verstappen fans into McLaren fans, probably via his team’s performance during the weekend. However, we won’t have the orange flares like we used to. Why so you may ask?

Flares are banned for Max Verstappen’s home race.

Max Verstappen has won the last 2 Dutch GP’s. Orange army, as the name suggests let out the orange smoke flares after the win to celebrate the occasion. However, it isn’t deemed to be safe. Even Fernando Alonso, for the last couple of years, had a radio call about the flares and was hilariously asked to switch on his fog lights. Nevertheless, the Dutch officials have put out a statement banning the use of flares at the circuit.

According to Autosport, the Dutch Officials said “Their [flares] use is not allowed and creates very unsafe situations on the track for drivers and other fans. The organization once again appeals to the common sense of all our fans and warns that the use of flares will not be tolerated.”
