However, for Oscar Piastri, his overnight F1 fame came in a peculiar manner thanks to this Alpine/McLaren fiasco. The Australian gained fame on X after his incredible tweet from back in 2022. Hilariously and coincidentally, his mother Nicole Piastri is on the same path.

No, we’re not talking about Oscar Piastri’s mother becoming a part of the circus, we’re talking about online fame. Nicole Piastri was relatively unknown to the world of X (formerly Twitter). However, after her son made it to the premier class, her wit, at the expense of her son, was reaching a larger audience. Her hilarious tweets give a unique mother of an F1 driver perspective to the fans and they love it. So much so that she’s now gained 63K followers on the platform.

One of her best tweets was when Piastri signed a contract extension with McLaren. The tweet received enough fame for it to become a conversation around the paddock and the Australian rookie at the time was even asked to comment on it.  Nicole Piastri also made the most of all the mishaps in 2023. The manhole cover, the Dutch GP, etc.

Her tweet about the Dutch GP which witnessed both sunshine and rain delaying the race was humorous as well. Nicole is just a hilarious mother expressing her true feelings toward a sport her son’s a part of now. As we can see, the fans are loving it as well. “Yeah, it’s cool,” he smiled and told the media as reported by Formula 1 when asked about his mother’s social media antics. “I mean I kind of made… That’s where I made my social media name for myself on Twitter a few years ago, and now my mum’s doing the same, mainly by making fun of me, but that’s okay, she’s my mum, she’s allowed to!”
