Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo are expected to be quite the fun pair on the F1 grid this season. The McLaren duo are seen as two of the funniest, most light-hearted and good-natured drivers on the circuit. Many expect them to be the next bromance story after Carlos Sainz and Norris in the past two years.

Both the drivers were part of McLaren’s 2021 car launch. The new pairing at the Woking-based outfit are expected to continue the team’s progress and compete for podiums on a more regular basis. The job won’t be an easy one considering the nature of the super competitive mid-field. But if them team can get one, if not both drivers, on the podium a handful of times this season, the fans would indeed have much to cheer about.

And on that note, Norris has increased the fans’ desire to see both him and Daniel on the podium by the following statement. While streaming on Twitch, Lando said that he’ll be open to participate in Ricciardo’s podium tradition, ‘the shoey.’

Lando Norris lists terms and conditions for celebrating in Ricciardo style

Ricciardo‘s famous shoey became the talk of the F1 town after the Emilia Romagna GP, since it had another participant in the form of Lewis Hamilton. And on that occasion, Hamilton did the unthinkable and drank champagne out of the Australian’s shoe. However, Norris isn’t interested in taking the bromance that far.

The young Briton said, “I would do a shoey, yeah. But I don’t think I’d do it from his shoe, Danny’s shoe.

However, the 20-year-old did admit that it would be a tough ask. He said, “Trust me, we’ve got some work to do before we are both on the podium.”

That work appears to have already begun. Soon after the car launch, Norris tested out the MCL35M at Silverstone. He’ll certainly be hoping that the car can help him add to his solitary podium in 2020.

Will we see Norris and Ricciardo on the podium together, doing the shoey? Can McLaren finish as the best of the rest once again? Or will Aston Martin eclipse them in 2021? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
