It was a much-improved performance from the Honey Badger this time around. So good that he even managed to beat his teammate despite starting far behind. Ricciardo started the race from P11 and finished in P7, despite having a 10-second time penalty and Esteban Ocon of Alpine breathing down his neck. Whereas Norris started from P8 and saw the chequered flag in P9.

The man from the Land Down Under attracted the penalty from the stewards as he hit AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda out of the race. While taking a turn, Tsunoda closed in on Ricciardo, and as a result, the two collided. The collision left the AlphaTauri driver with a damaged sidepod and hence had to retire. However, the former red bull star did not agree to the penalty.
