Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari almost broke the internet with the fans going gaga across the world, F1 or otherwise. The Brit’s sensational move was perhaps the biggest after his move from McLaren to Mercedes. We will surely see the on-track impact of this move starting from 2025. However, the one area where this news had an instant impact was the stock market. The Hamilton to Ferrari news gave the Ferrari stock an instant boost in the share market, with its stock eventually rising by 12% which amounted to a massive $10 billion. Now, with other major players in the paddock, a fan asked an interesting question on Peter Windsor‘s live-stream, forcing us to wonder if Aramco will do something similar.

For the unaware, Saudi Aramco, officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Group, is a state-owned petroleum and natural gas company. Aramco is the national oil company of Saudi Arabia and as of 2022, the world’s second-largest company in terms of revenue. Aramco’s name is synonymous in the F1 world as well with Aston Martin–they’re the British team’s title sponsor.

So now that Ferrari has proved F1 can have an enormous impact in the real world, will Aramco also make a similar splash in F1? Well, they’ve already seen examples of F1 playing a part in the real world when Aston Martin added $300 million to its stock after an incredible start to the 2023 season. This is exactly why a fan’s question on Peter Windsor‘s latest live-stream is making us wonder.

The fan’s question read, “Lewis in Ferrari, could that be Aramco/Ferrari partnership? I am sure there must be a greater plan than just the prestige that he brings?” Even Windsor agreed, “It smells like something sort of Aramco level, doesn’t it? Something at the top.”

So now with Aston Martin with at least one vacant seat, Aramco could give Lawrence Stroll and Co. some added motivation to make a big money move. For now, we can only assume they can target the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey to make an equally substantial impact in the F1 world.

However, it’s a far-fetched idea as the team is still finding its feet as one of the top runners. It will be a few years before Aston Martin starts competing for regular wins and then the championship, eventually. However, getting the Verstappen-Newey combo can fast-track that, and Windsor already believes wherever Newey goes, Verstappen will follow.

Peter Windsor reveals the best way to poach Max Verstappen

In his latest live stream, the F1 veteran discussed the Max Verstappen to Mercedes rumors as well. His first and honest reaction to the fan’s question was there was no way. However, there was a “but”. Windsor believes Verstappen is too smart to move unless Adrian Newey also moves. Windsor suggested the Dutchman would follow the man behind the operation wherever his destination lies.

“To me, all this stuff about Max is completely and utterly related to Adrian Newey. He’s not stupid Max Verstappen and he will only move anywhere if either Adrian is not racing anymore or Adrian’s moved. If Adrian moves, it would be a completely different team anyway.– So the key to this is Adrian, always,” he said.

He also confessed if Newey were to move, “Then Max will go with him for sure.”
