Ferrari is flying at the moment with their phenomenal performance, even impressing the Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff. The Silver Arrows has been dominating the hybrid era, but Ferrari ended that brilliant run this season.

Ferrari has a glorious history in the sport, but over the past few seasons, their glory has been fading while Mercedes took the spotlight. However, the Italian F1 giants were working on a powerful engine for the past few years. Eventually, the hard work paid for the Prancing Horses in the 2022 season. As they are dominating the grid at the moment.

Meanwhile, the Silver Arrows are having a rough season. The Mercedes duo is struggling with the car and they are far from the fight at the front between Ferrari and Red Bull. So, the Mercedes boss congratulated the Italian constructor for their progress within just a few seasons.
“I have never seen a team make so much progress in such a short time. They’ve proven they can do it.” Wolff reported, “I can only congratulate them.”
Ferrari is faster than Mercedes now
The Silver Arrows were the fastest car on the grid since the introduction of the hybrid era. They have bagged eight consecutive constructors’ championships since then. However, the German constructors are no longer the fastest car. Meanwhile, Ferrari F1-75 is the fastest car this season and Mercedes still isn’t able to catch up to the Prancing Horses in the past three races.

Mercedes F1 boss reported, “We have seen Ferrari take a big step. Previously they were about 14 hp behind, now they are 14 hp ahead.”

Even with the slow car, Mercedes bagged two podiums, but both were courtesy of Red Bull DNFs in Bahrain and Melbourne. But the German constructor is still not close enough to the fight in front of the grid. Although fans saw little improvement in the Australian GP.
