Never in his 15-year career has Lewis Hamilton not finished the season without winning a single race. However, it looks like a huge possibility now, with Mercedes winless all season and only 4 races left to ply his trade. Moreover, he and George Russell have been given a big boost ahead of the US Grand Prix in Austin.
Lewis is the record win holder at the Circuit of The Americas circuit in Austin with 6 victories. Furthermore, Mercedes is bringing their final sets of upgrades to the USA.

Mercedes has struggled all season long with their W-13. However, their final sets of upgrades will give them the much-needed data and learnings to take over to the next season. Mercedes trackside engineering director, Andrew Shovlin, gave the update on Mercedes’ YouTube channel.
Shovlin said, “It’s the last step of our aerodynamic development. Hopefully, it will bring some more performance, but importantly, with every step, we are learning more and more and that learning we can carry into next year.”
He further added, “That’s part of it, also there is a few bit where we have taken the weight out of the components that will hopefully get the car closer to the weight limit. It’s very difficult for us to predict where we going to be.”
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will be hoping to exploit all the advantages of the latest set of upgrades in the US GP. It is worth mentioning that George Russell won the only pole position of Mercedes this season in Hungary.
Fernando Alonso regards Lewis Hamilton as the top 5 drivers of all time
Lewis Hamilton started his rookie season in F1 with McLaren alongside the defending world champion and perhaps one of the fiercest drivers on the grid. The Mercedes man beat Fernando Alonso in both seasons they were together, and won the championship in his second season. Lewis even called the Spaniard the toughest guy he has raced against in F1.
The Spaniard has now heaped praise on the Briton and called him one of the top 5 drivers of all time. When asked if Lewis was in the top 5 drivers, Fernando said, “Yes.”

Alonso further said, “In F1, every single season he has been very competitive, apart from one or two with Jenson (Button) when he had some issues. He was able to win with a dominant car, with a good car like 2010 or 2012, or with bad cars like 2009 and 2011.”
“Not all the champions can say that.”
