Two more months before the 2021 season begins and we are still waiting for Mercedes F1’s announcement about Hamilton‘s contract. As Formula 1 fans around the world wait, the Brackley team is taking their sweet time and teasing everyone with their social media uploads.

The first talks of the contract began last season when Hamilton clarified that he’d like to focus on the task at hand – winning the championship.

Mercedes later stated that they might announce the contract extension by the end of 2020.

However, there is no update until now, and Toto Wolff has since clarified that the contract negotiation could take up to pre-season testing too.

Yet, the team continues to tease the fans on social media. They posted a link to their pens and hinted at the much-awaited contract signing.

While the world awaited an official announcement, the team uploaded another tweet a few days back captioned ‘announcement.’ Fans were expecting to see an announcement concerning Hamilton, but it was just a throwback to the day Valtteri Bottas signed for Mercedes.

The fans were fuming at the Brackley team, teasing them as they let the team know their feelings.

While we wait for Mercedes’ official announcement on Hamilton’s contract, the team announced Frederik Vesti as their junior driver. The Danish driver finished fourth in Formula 3 last season, driving for Prema.
